The couple that promotes social activism together- stays together. Ashton Kutcher and wifey Demi Moore are using their celebrity and social media to stop sex trafficking. It’s all part of their “ Real Men Don’t Buy Girls” campaign.
Here’s what I like:
#1. They’re using social media ( twitter, Facebook, etc.) to address a problem that happens 75% on-line.
#2. They’re dealing with the demand issue by shaming men who want young girls for pleasure. (Obviously cracking down on suppliers can use more persistence)
#3. Both were well-spoken, logical and passionate about the cause when appearing on CNN together. Even admitting that it took some “persuading” to get fellow celebs involved because some believe “prostitution should be a girl’s choice if she’s over 18”.
Both stars have also been big Obama supporters and they’re still on the bandwagon. Ashton came out defending the president saying- no one person should be responsible for turning around the economy. He likened the economy to a big ball rolling down the hill and asked how President Obama alone could stop it with his hands?
